better mornings start with better evenings

Ever feel like self-care is just another task on your to-do list? You can find endless advice on tiktok or a quick google search, but sometimes you need something simple—something that feels real.

I’ve always found it interesting to hear about other people’s self-care routines because they reveal a lot about someone. For me, it’s not the ingredients in my creams or serums that have the biggest impact—it’s the time i spend caring for myself. that shift in focus is what’s made all the difference.

Let me share a few simple nightly rituals i follow when i’m too tired or lazy but still want to take care of myself. “Ritual” may sound a bit dramatic, but i prefer it over “routine,” which feels too rigid. This is more about staying connected to myself in a way that feels easy and natural.

Simple nightly self-care
Here’s what i aim for when i’m keeping it simple:

Step one: Shower

A warm shower or bath is the best way to wash away the day. It’s like hitting reset—letting go of whatever happened so i can start fresh tomorrow. There’s no better feeling than stepping out of the shower after a crazy day.

Step two: Hydration

Hot girls stay hydrated. that’s it, that’s the rule.

Step three: Cleansing & Moisturising

First, I love massaging body oil into my skin. The warmth, the smoothness, the light scent—it’s all about winding down.
Next, i use a gentle cleanser to clear away debris, oil, and dead skin cells, leaving my skin prepped for toners and moisturizers.
I follow with a toner (paula’s choice is my go-to).
Then, i moisturize with my favorite cream.
I dry my hair with a microfiber towel, apply my hair cream, and braid it.
Lastly, I dab perfume oil on my pulse points and finish with a body mist.

Step four: Comfy clothes & a snack

I slip into something cozy, grab a healthy snack (lately, i’ve been loving greek yogurt with peaches or pomegranate), and just enjoy the calm

Also, I sip a warm cup of tea while watching tv or reading. It’s the perfect way to wind down.

Step six: Sleep

I try to get my 8 hours, going to sleep with a little more peace in my heart and mind—hoping for a good day tomorrow.

As i mentioned, i don’t like calling this a “routine” because it’s not something i do every night. Sometimes i go straight to bed, sometimes i give myself the full treatment. The key is listening to my body and being gentle with myself.

How do you unwind on your laziest self-care nights?
